Fiona Scott is a political strategist with extensive experience is corporate marketing and developing effective media campaigns.
She currently provides political commentary on the Australian News Channel – Sky News Australia. She also provides commentary to ABC radio and the ‘Drum’.
Fiona was formerly the Federal Member of Parliament representing the Western Sydney electorate of Lindsay. While in politics, Fiona was a member of federal parliamentary committees including Economics, Public Works, Indigenous Affairs and Human Rights. She also held positions as the Secretary to the Coalition Policy Committee on Education, and was a member of the Coalition’s Policy Committee for Small Business and Tourism. While representing the Lindsay electorate, she was instrumental in negotiating the future deployment of the Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek, the North South Rail Link and the Western Sydney City Deal, and the types of jobs it would bring to the region. Prior to politics, Fiona was a strategic marketing, branding and communications specialist working with ASX listed companies including Westfield, GPT, Auto One, Yates (a division of Orica) and Wattyl Paints. She held executive positions including NSW’s state representative on Auto One’s National Members Advisory Council.
She an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW (AGSM – UNSW) and a Bachelor of Business and Marketing from the University of Western Sydney (UWS). Fiona is certified by the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) to practice stakeholder engagement and community relations. As a registered professional member of IAP2, Fiona abides by its industry driven codes of ethics. She currently holds a public board position at the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA), so she is accustomed to presenting and working closely with executives and their expectations. Fiona is a Managing Partner of Castlereagh Advisory.
